Donate and Volunteer
Just Friends receives generous donations from local foundations, churches, and service groups, as well as contributions and memorials from individuals and families in the community. The East-West Tea in partnership with the local Japanese Community in honor of "Respect for Elders Day" each September also raises funds that keep adult day services accessible to all who can benefit from it. Other community supporters donate "wish list" items such as those listed below.

Volunteer Positions available
Serving our community makes ones own life better through the satisfaction of giving back, not to mention the benefits from being with other people, staying active, and above all having a sense of the value of ourselves in society. To volunteer at Just Friends and help in any of the following areas, contact Elizabeth Ball at (812) 372-6415
- Senior Companion to provide one-on-one support and companionship to our special needs participants, in addition to assisting the activities staff to provide a better experience for individuals and the group as a whole
- Program Volunteer to provide assistance to our participants in a wide range of activities, while supporting the Certified Program Assistants in all aspects of the activity program, including leading activities when necessary
- Administrative Aide to assist with general office duties, mass mailings and special projects as assigned
- Cooking Club Presenter to assist our participants to retain the skills involved in food preparation for as long as possible. This will also give them a sense of accomplishment as they enjoy the results of their labors
- Gardening Advisor or Assistant to help us improve our garden area through consultation and background information, and maintenance over the warmer months
- Music Volunteer to provide music, while bringing energy, camaraderie and familiar memories to our program participants. Music is an integral part of our holistic, activity based, wellness program
- Pet Therapy Provider to give participants who enjoy interaction with animals the opportunity to do so in a safe and controlled environment
- Event Planner or Coordinator to plan and organize our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, for the enjoyment of our participants, their families and our staff. This event is usually held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving
- Scrapbooking Assistant to assist our Program Assistants with various scrapbooking projects, for the enjoyment of the participants and their families
- Kitchen Aide to assist with various tasks involved with serving lunch and to help clean up afterward
